This month, I reformatted, organized, and designed two proposals that resulted in over $600,000 of revenue for both of these clients.
Want to know how I did it? Let me share some tips on crafting the perfect proposal.
✅ DO make sure your branding is chef’s kiss! 🧑🏻🍳💋
My first step was ensuring every single page reflected the client’s brand identity. This involved using their specific color schemes, fonts, logos, and overall feel. Consistency is crucial! Make sure headers, footers, and even bullet points are consistent with your branding guidelines.
❌ Don’t have messy formatting.
The tiny details might not seem like they matter, but when they are implemented, they guide your future client seamlessly through the proposal. You need bold headers, crisp paragraphs, and bullet points are key! Also, quick tip – if you are on a mac, don’t File>save as PDF. That might jumble your text. Hit Command P to act as if you are printing it, and save the PDF that way. This keeps the original formatting. You can thank me later!
❌ Don’t just use text…🥱
Visuals were KEY to making these proposals engaging. I included icons to break up text, beautiful graphs to visually represent data, and tables to organize information effectively. Stock photos are also great when used in moderation. Visuals should not overwhelm, but rather complement the text.
✅ DO proofread the heck out of that thing.
How can your client expect you to turn around a $500,000 product when you can't perfect the grammar and spelling? 😘 If you are not a master proofreader, you need to hire someone with an eagle eye 🙋🏻♀️ to make sure it is flawless.
I don’t know about you, but I truly love doing these proposals. My StrengthsFinder Maximizer talent drives me to take something good and make it exceptional.
Seeing the impact and ROI that my proposals bring to my clients is incredibly fulfilling. But you can achieve this too! Focus on branding, attention to detail, engaging visuals, client-centric content, and clear writing. Combine these elements, and you’ll create proposals that stand out and win clients.
Go make those proposals shine, friend! You’ve got this. 💪
